This wind power project is situated across in the Dhule district of Maharashtra. It delivers zero emissions renewable electricity to India’s national grid.The Wind Power project consists of 16 turbines, each with a capacity of 2100 kW. The combined capacity of 33.6 MW generates approximately 116,000 MWh of renewable electricity each year. The project improves local air quality while avoiding solid waste generation associated with coal-fired power plants.
Affordable Clean Energy
Besides the generation of clean energy and thereby replacement of dirtier coal-fired power plants, the project reduces its environmental footprint as it does not involve any fossil fuel, and thus there are no GHG emissions. Also, there is no impact on land, water, air and soil due to the installation of wind projects.
Household Saving & Livelihood
The project provides jobs to local workers for the operation of the wind project and offers generous wages and social security contributions. The generated electricity will be fed into the regional grid, thereby improving the grid frequency and availability of electricity, thus contributing in the development of the country.
Local Economy & Infrastructure
The project activity would enhance availability of power to the local industries, agriculture and commercial activities in the vicinity of the project area by augmenting power supply to the electricity grids in India, thereby improving quality of power supplied to various users by stabilizing the grid.
Health & Hygiene
With regard to the health and safety of the staff as well as local villagers, a first aid kit has been provided at the working areas, regular technical and safety trainings are organized periodically, and emergency and safety procedures are included in the operation manual to ensure safe working condition for the staff. A full time dispensary as well as health camps are being organized from time to time as part of CSR activities in the vicinity of the project.
Training & Upskilling
The project activity leads to enhanced training for 8 employees for managing and monitoring the wind project, leading to enhanced quality of employment.
