Vikrant holds a master's degree in Environment Science from the Institute of Environment Education and Research, Bharti Vidyapeeth Pune (BVIEER). He started his career as a program officer at BVIEER, where he worked on sustainable development, conservation, and biodiversity projects in the Western Ghats.
He has vast experience in forestry and conservation projects and he has previously worked on satellite telemetry and population estimation of large carnivores. Also has an experience with Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh Forest Department where he looked at habitat development, human-wildlife conflict, and community-based operations. He has extensively worked in and around protected areas of the Central Indian Landscape. Apart from the conservation and policy applications of research, Vikrant believes that climate change is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together.
