Sukanta has a M.Sc degree from Tezpur Central University as well as M.tech degree from IIT Mumbai/Tezpur University . He has worked in multiple countries for climate risk mitigation projects both offset and removals, first as an auditor under different Certification bodies and than as a consultant.

Sukanta is a senior climate change professional with 18 years of experience in climate project operation, adaptation & mitigation planning, climate finance, and sustainable development. He has led team in his various capacity for the organizations in execution of GHG projects (offset as well as removals), including strategies, action plans, vulnerability assessments, and greenhouse gas mitigation programs. His expertise spans climate risk assessment, resilience building, low-carbon development, and stakeholder engagement across government, private sector, and development partners. Sukanta has worked extensively with international agencies, providing technical leadership on climate mainstreaming, project design, monitoring & evaluation, and capacity building both in the capacity of auditing and consultancy. He is recognized for his ability to translate complex climate science into practical, policy-relevant solutions with measurable impact.
