A 500 KL a day biodiesel plant in Rajasthan
See how a biodiesel plant earns carbon credits under ACM0017, with validation and verification done together.
Biodiesel production, measured for carbon
The Rajasthan plant produces 500 KL of biodiesel and 70 KL of glycerin every day. It began operating on September 15, 2020, and its reductions are estimated at about 238,373 tCO2e a year.

Emissions avoided, year after year
From biodiesel production to carbon credits
Follow a biodiesel plant from first production to a verified crediting period.
01 The challenge
The plant started operating on September 15, 2020. To earn credits, it needed to show its reductions against an approved methodology, from the first day of its crediting period.

02 The approach
The project applies methodology ACM0017 to its biodiesel production. Validation and verification ran as a joint exercise, from September 2020 to March 2022.
03 Delivery
The plant is estimated to avoid about 238,373 tCO2e a year. Across the first seven-year crediting period, that comes to about 1.67 million tonnes.
